at the dalian rici, the emphasis is on technological innovation, intellectual property, and the industrialization of patented technology. in 2011, it had five out of nine of its patent applications approved, four of them for chinese inventions. one of its inventions – a “preparation for polybenzoxazole fiber with thiophene structure that features ultraviolet light resistance” method, for which it filed an international patent application -- overcame some technical defects and has good ultraviolet light resistance and good optical, electrical and magnetic performance, as compared with pbo fiber. one other invention that was patented involved a “synthetic method that substitutes benzotriazole compound” and had simpler processes, lower production costs, and higher yields so it will benefit the industrialization of products. another patented invention -- a “benzotriazole light stabilizer containing hindered amine group” -- can stabilize resin, fiber, ink, wax and similar items with effective ultraviolet absorption and light stability of hindered amine. one other application was for a “chloridization technique of phenoxyacetic acid and its deviants” process.
a “premium low-salt and heavy sodium carbonate” method, which was given two invention patents, provides an improved way to produce low-salt, heavy sodium carbonate made of light sodium carbonate via the thermal method in a hou process. it prevents the large discharge of waste liquid in the ammonia soda process and the failure of regularly producing low-salt, heavy sodium carbonate in the combined alkali method. crude sea salt, halite and salt brine from a salt mine can be used for the process, and it has good product quality. in addition, one utility model patent covered a “polymeric flocculant powder mixing unit”, which was designed to overcome the uneven distribution and lumpy congregation of polymeric flocculant powder and promptly and evenly mix polymeric flocculant powder into solvent or water.
