thermal-method ammonium chloride project designed by dalian institute goes into operation

(correspondent: guo miao) recently, the project for production of ammonium chloride through thermal process, designed by dalian research & design institute of chemical industry (hereafter called dalian institute) for hunan yuhua chemical group co. ltd. (hereafter called hycgc), has been officially put into operation, with ammonium chloride and salt products through analyses and tests meeting quality requirements.

the method for production of ammonium chloride through thermal process, a focus of the combined-soda industry, was applied to the hycgc’s ammonium chloride expansion project with an annual output of 150,000 tons. after the expansion project was started to be designed by dalian institute in march 2014 and constructed in 2015, its trial run was conducted under the on-site guidance of designers in early july 2016. the project has been in official operation through persistent efforts.

differing from the traditional ammonium chloride process, the thermal-method ammonium chloride production process is to process the alkali-making mother liquor through deamination (the desorptive nh3 and co2 would be utilized again through absorption and recycling) to produce ammonium chloride and salt through evaporation and flash vaporization. this new technology solved the problem of mother liquor expansion in the conventional production of combined-soda. due to the zero discharge of waste gas and water and industrial residue, it is of great realistic significance in promoting energy saving and emission reduction. in addition, it is equivalent to the integration of vacuum salt making and combined-soda production, making alkali-making by bittern possible.

for many years, dalian institute has focused on the integration of traditional and new technologies in the field of environmental protection based on the strategy for scientific innovation. researchers and designers across generations have devoted themselves to the theoretical research and industrialization of the thermal-method ammonium chloride production process. after numerous improvements in technologies and materials and process ranging from determination of phase diagrams and plans to small and medium tests, they finally have realized the industrial production of the new process. the successful operation of the project has tested the thermal-method ammonium chloride production process, exerting great impact on combined-soda production process. at the same time, it has greatly raised the influence and attention of dalian institute in the soda industry, laying a solid foundation for the expansion of the design market for soda production process.
